Training & Trust Building:
Monitors are cautious by nature and it may take some time to build up trust. The more you interact with your pet the more relaxed he/ she will become. Get on the floor and play with him/ her. Become a monitor. You might be surprised at the kind of interaction you experience.

He is attracted to the scent of the black tape that is on this plastic bottle. The bottle is too large and slippery for him to grasp but that's not stopping him from trying. It's good exercise too.

I like to show him objects that he takes an interest in and let him smell and play with these objects. It helps him determine what is edible & what is not.

I truly believe that what you give is what you get when it comes to working with these fantastic lizards. The more time you spend interacting with your monitor the friendlier & more playful they will become.

I purchased this particular Savannah Monitor at about 8-10 months of age. So if you think taming an older monitor is going be a problem think again. It's all about you!!
